Thank you, it makes it worthwhile doing this videos when I know people are enjoying them. Smoking cigars at age eight isn’t something I would recommend to others, but it seemed very natural to us at that age. (and fun)

My dad was a strange man, very strict in a fifties father sort of way, and yet at times he just let other things roll off his back that I would think he’d blow his top over. I did see Scott once at a gun show. Didn’t get to talk long though. He was a character! Of course so was I.

Most folks did smoke cigs back when I grew up (I’m 51), but while everyone around me smoked, I never had an interest in it. The most interesting people hung out in the smoking area, though!

Oh, heck, we’ve got years and years left to enjoy our vices. I wonder if your dad didn’t see the cigar thing as something a young man might do that indicated he was interested in ‘man stuff’ rather than boyish things – and thus didn’t discourage it. The roll of the eyes might have been more in response to be shined on … good story. Be interesting to talk to Scott, now.
